Hiya everyone, hope you are all ok, I was just looking at all the pics and it brings back great memories, I can't believe I am going into my last year at high school it only seems like yesterday when I was in Mrs Oakes nursery class and getting dressed up for the summer fair and Mrs Bowen would always be on the lucky dip shouting at everyone to have a go. Hi, my name is Mark Sharman, I am a former pupil, I left St Augustine's & the district in 1971 & moved to East Anglia, I returned to Pendlebury & visited the school on the 13th. July this year with my childhood sweetheart Dot Kerrigan who I sat next to in class & who I had not seen since 1971, this was the first time I had ever returned in 36 years. It was great to visit my roots, can I thank the Headteacher Mrs Kellner and her staff for making us feel very welcome & for the tour, it was also fantastic to see the famous church again. Thankyou Mark & Dot.

Just wanted to say what a great show the choir put on, all the kids were great again, can't wait till next year to see what your next theme will be. Thanks to Mrs Bowen and all the staff for taking the time out to get the kids involved with the choir.

I can not wait to go into year 4 but I will miss year 3 and Miss Robb.

St. Augustine's is the best school. The teachers are very kind to all of the children in the school. By Jack -- I have had a lot of ups and downs but this school has helped me. All the teachers help you through your journey in this school. We will all be sad to leave this school. I will miss the lessons that Mr Chappell has taught us. We have been at St. Augustine's for 8 years and we have both really enjoyed them, we will be sad to leave but also excited to be going to High School. We will miss all the teachers, we both really enjoyed Betws-y-Coed, thank you to the staff who went with us for giving us the time of our lives and coming instead of having a weekend away from 'mad kids' it was brill. We have also enjoyed the other trips and holidays we have been on. Thank you also for doing the clubs instead of going home and putting your feet up. Hello everyone at St. Augustine's primary - wow the playground is excellent. It's a pity that we didnt get to go on any of the new playground equipment. We really can't believe that we are nearly in year 9 the years have flown past so fast, if we had a time machine we would go back to the start of nursery, its been the best school in ours lives and it always will be . Demi loves school now -- I would just like to give a huge thank you to Mrs Oakes and Mrs Leech for being wonderful with Demi and all the other children in the Nursery class. Demi will miss them, when she goes into Reception class. So it looks like a few more weeks of tears for me again!Hopefully she will settle as well as she did in Nursery class. P.S. I miss you all! I'm soooooooooo busy : So much homework! I've just got a new timetable so its confusing. Can't find the right classes! Any-way hope you're all doing well and I'll try and pop in one day after school! Happy new year!

I am missing you all. I will come again to see the after school club when I go to my Nan's house. I am missing everyone, it is good fun at Wentworth High. I don't like history, but for PE I have the head of year who is very nice.

I am the current Editor of the Swinton & Pendlebury magazine and as I think it most important for the worshippers at all our district churches to discover what is happening in the 3 primary schools, I intend to include infomation about each school regularly. The website is excellent and I am most impressed by the news that St. Augustine's pupils are encouraged to make links with the local community as you did at harvest and again with the visit of the choir to the blessing of the crib at R.M.C.H. Such happenings will get a regular appearance in the magazines. We shall not include pictures of course. If I think it is particularly important to mention any pupil by name, I shall contact your school so that permission can be gained from the person(s) concerned.

I sincerely hope that you will be able to keep this website going and I heartily congratulate you on the content.

Well I'm in my last year now at Swinton High -- wahoo!
Mr.Chappell if you get chance to read this (hello) I hope you still remember our little deal, because I've not forgotten -hehe-. If I do well in the next year the money could possibly go to buying my first car in September! Im still at Sale Harriers running and I love it, at the minute I'm doing a lot of distance running but I'm still keeping up the sprinting. My main events are still the 200m and relay!

This is the best website and school ever!

I really like all the teachers at St. Augustines. My best teacher is Mr Chappell because when I'm in trouble he calms me down . My second best teacher is Mrs Bowen because she has taught me a lot of songs and she has let me sing them on my own in front of parents.

We have enjoyed being in y6. We don't want to leave here as we will really miss all the teachers, especially Mr Chappell.

I love St Augustines school and all my friends there especially the staff. Andrew and Dylan are my best friends. My favourite teachers are Miss Robb , Mrs Lowe and Mr Chappell and the Welfare staff help when you're in danger or hurt.

Excellent website!! I moved my daughter here 2 years ago from another school and she loves it here. She is now in yr 3 and is very settled. A wonderful small community school!

I used to go to this school in 1967 and Mr Heath had just started teaching. Mr Partington was the headmaster and there was Mr Williams, Mrs Lee and Mrs Pallin. The dinner ladies would make you eat all your vegetables or you could not ask for any seconds. We went on a school trip to the Lake District and stayed at Newlands.

I was here and left in 2004 and yr6 is the best class you could ever be in
and Mr Chappell is a great teacher. I wish I was back there because high
school is a lot different!!!

Hello St. Augustine's! It's 10 years since I left (Is it really a decade?!) and some things never seem to change! Glad to see all the teachers are still going strong, and are still *trying* to be funny (Oh, how we all laughed at Mr. Chappell in his first year...!). Anyway, I live in Spain now, as part of my degree in Spanish and Portuguese at Salford University, but sometimes, I wish I was still at school! :-P ¡Hasta Luego!

I would just like to say what a brilliant show the chior put on at the M.E.N on Monday night (5/12/05). Thanks to Mrs Bowen , Miss Lowe and all other staff who helped. Myself and Louise had a great night and look forward to the next show.

In school it has been great being part of the choir, and taking part in the choir shows at school, and going to the M.E.N. My mum has enjoyed watching me at the M.E.N. for the last three years. Thank you Mrs. Bowen, Mrs. Lowe and Miss Price for all their hard work.

I think it's great that you have this website, it means that us parents who can't always get to the events that happen can still see what went on. We are lucky enough to be going to the MEN arena on Monday to see the year 6 pupils in the choir at their last performance there.

Hello everyone! It has been 2 days since I left St. Augustine's. It's not bad at my new school but most of them write in pencil! The School has had snow, quite a lot on monday! So the path when I go home is covered in slippy ice! I've already fallen twice! I am sad I left.

Thank you to Mr Chappell and Mrs Davenport for your kind comments on the choir performance Music through the ages. I have enjoyed putting this together and finally seeing it through to the big night!! All credit must go to the children for putting up with my 'moaning' as I tried to get 100% from them, but they showed me their true colours and gave more than I could have asked for. May I just say to the parents of the choir children that my feeling of pride for the children was enormous, so yours must have been incredible, after all..' these were YOUR children'. We have enjoyed eight years at St. Augustines and we are sorry to leave because we've had such a great time. We have been on trips such as Betws-y-Coed and Prestatyn. We've had plenty of support from all the teachers and we hope it's the same in high school.

I rarely add comments to the website, as you'll see, but I wanted to say what a talented choir we have. Yesterday evening (July 8th) I watched the choir cabaret. It was absolutely superb. I haven't been entertained so much in years! Every performance drew loud rounds of applause and cheering in a packed hall.
So much work had obviously gone into the show and Mrs Bowen and Mrs Lowe should take credit for preparing a professionally run evening. Thanks also to friends of Mrs Bowen from St Lukes Drama Group and The Swinton High School. The real stars of course were the choir members (too many great performances to name). Well done to all of you. Fabulous!!

Our 8 years at this school have been great. We have really enjoyed it here and we will really miss the teachers and our mates. We have played for the football team, and been in the Athletics team. I used to go to St Augustines and I left in July 2001. Looking through the website brought back lots of really good memories and I prefer primary to secondary school. Just a quick note to say how sorry all of us are to have left St Augustines. We have all made lots of friends and I as a parent cannot thank the teachers enough for the care and support you have given Victoria, Emma , George and John. I would just like to say that the show 'Frankie and Me' was fantastic, the children were brilliant, the teachers did a good job, you have some very talented children at school. All did well, PJ was funny as Frankie, WELL DONE to you all, perhaps the school could do a drama class?

We will miss St.Augustines when we leave to go to high school. We will miss all the teachers and thankyou for teaching us.

We have enjoyed playing for the school football team and going to Betws-Coed. We enjoyed going to Sports action challenge and most of all we have enjoyed being in year6.

I think St. Augustine's website is great. My best friend at school is Jodie and I am really looking forward to going to high school but I am also sad because this school is good and the teachers are really kind and I might not see my best friends again. In year 6, I am really enjoying it. I enjoyed being a part of the Christmas concert. Except, I had a part which involved tambourines, and I was rubbish! But I pulled it off on the day, I think. A few weeks ago Mr Chappell chose me and a few other people to help him to put Christmas decorations up. It started ok, but me being clumsy, had to drop a Christmas tree! (Muppet brains) also I taped tinsel from the wall to the door, thats me! I also want to say thanks to Mr Chappell for all he has done for me! Thanks!

I would just like to say the Christmas Fair was very good. Nice to see new games and stalls, and the Christmas Concert was fantastic a lot of work and effort was put in. WELL DONE everybody, Merry Christmas to you all.

I think that this website is good because of all the pictures that are on it but why are there none of the teachers and staff ?

Good point Matthew -- there are a few -- but the main point of the website is to show what the pupils do during their time at school, and so that you can see yourself, your work and your achievements on the website -- and anyway we are all shy! (Mrs. Oakes)

I have just re-read all the 'Leavers' comments for the first time since the last day of term. It made me realise that we had a very special Year 6. I would like to wish them all the best for the future. As a new pupil at St Augustine's I feel like I am already part of the St Augustine's community! Everyone has made me feel extremely welcome, especially Miss. Our school has been to many diffrent places. Even though it is our last year we have enjoyed going to these places. We will never forget this school.

Hello St Augustines, I was a pupil in the Nursery School from when I was 3 yrs old to 6 yrs old. In August 1940. I left to go to Australia , as a wartime ( WWII)...evacuee . One of my teachers , turned out to be an escort to Liverpool, from where I sailed.
I returned to my parents at the end of 1945 (we lived at No 8 Church St) and I went to Cromwell Rd. High School, till I was 15 yrs old . I now live in Brisbane the capital of Queensland in Australia and have been here since 1968.
I have many fond memories of St Augustines .

I'm proud to be a member of such a good school. I like all the staff, they are very nice and I would like to thank Mrs Oakes for such a good web site. I am 8 years old and enjoy singing in the school choir. Just a quick suggestion for the website, why not show old pictures of past students and celebrations, I'm sure I would see my dad and aunty on some of them. ST AUGUSTINES PRIMARY IS NUMBER ONE.

It was 1992 (I think) when I left St Augustines, I'm 21 now - hope that doesn't make anyone feel old!! Still have fond memories of the days when Mr Heath used to kill us with his mental arithmatic tests! I'm living and working in Paris at the moment, and I spent the first half of the year teaching English in a secondary school in Spain (I now sympathise with teachers everywhere-were we really that bad?!) Just wanted to say hi to all my old teachers and that I still think of you all. Hope you are all well, take care.

I went to St Augustines 25 Years ago and I am pleased to say that it was a great school. I loved playing for the school team in rounders and athletics. But the best time was undoubtedly Christmas parties and the annual stage production.

Just checked out the website for the 1st time - its very good, especially all the photos - keep it up. I'll have to go and do some work now before my boss catches me!

I don't think anyone will remember me but I was at St. Augustines about 10 years ago. I had a fantastic time and it was great to see how its changed since then.
